Lloydminster Bobcats prepare to host Border Battle

The Lloydminster Bobcats are gearing up to host the Border Battle.

The matchup features the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings and the Saskatoon Blades, playing an exhibition match in the Civic Centre to kick off their preseason. Ryan Sklapsky, LPSD’s Athletic Director, says there will be Lloydminster boys playing in the game.

“There [are] some local boys that are going to be playing on both teams,” Sklapsky said. ” Andrew Koep, Kobe Moore, [and] Brandon Baddock are three Lloydminster-area products that will suit up in the exhibition game for the Oil Kings. Chaseton Braid and Chase Wouters are a couple of local boys that will be suiting up for the Blades. So, a lot of family and friends will be there to support those guys, but also it will be some pretty good hockey, and [a chance to] watch some of the prospects from both teams that have a chance to make a step up to the [WHL] this year.”

Tickets are available on the Bobcats’ website, and cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and $12 for children. The game is on September 6th.
