Stolen Lloydminster vehicle involved in Eagle Hill firearms incident: Sundre RCMP

Sundre RCMP is seeking information on two car thieves after a vehicle stolen from Lloydminster was involved in the theft of a truck and a firearm incident in Eagle Hill.

Thursday morning, RCMP were called to an Eagle Hill home after reports a vehicle had been stolen. Police were informed that two people in a dark Lexus SUV, which was stolen from Lloydminster, were involved in stealing a black 2016 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel at the home. The owner, who was out of the country, had family members head to his home after his security system informed him of the Lexus outside his house.

The father of the homeowner pulled up to the house and tried to block the driveway when he witnessed a man and woman taking the GMC out of his son’s garage. RCMP says the brother showed up right as the alleged thieves were driving away in both stolen vehicles around the attempted block. The father and son pursued the car thieves with a third family member who tried to block the stolen vehicles as they tried to exit.

The family members followed the thieves to a dead end road and waited for them to turn around. Police say the Lexus got stuck in a ditch after trying to escape in which the female driver got out and ran into the truck.

The GMC Sierra attempted to drive off but was still blocked by the father and brother. Police say the male in the stolen GMC preceded to point a sawed shotgun at the vehicle telling them to move. When they refused he attempted to drive into a ditch and got stuck briefly before getting away.

RCMP says the stolen Sierra has minor damage to the front drivers and passengers side. The license plate on the vehicle is BWL6101 and the VIN number is 1GT42YE8XGF288853.

Both suspects were described as Caucasians. The female was wearing black winter clothing with glasses and seems to be in her early 20s. The male is described to be in his mid to late 20s with a slim build, light brown hair, a moustache and was wearing Carhart clothing and a beige hat with sunglasses.

Anyone with information on the individuals or the vehicle is encouraged to call Sundre RCMP at 403-638-3675 or call your local police. RCMP says not to approach the two thieves as they’re armed and dangerous.
