Pucks for Everyone proceeds goes towards supporting youth sports

Two border city residents have put together Pucks for Everyone where all proceeds are supporting Lloydminster Kidsport. Co-organizer Don Milot says the high cost of organized sports can affect kids in the community.

“Kidsport steps up. They’re a crutch that is available for families just can’t afford to send their kids into something they’re passionate about.”

Milot adds the high price of equipment and registration can hinder kids from joining youth sports. He says last year’s inaugural event raised just over $10,000.

“That’s why we’re able to do it again this year as we had such a great review from our sponsors and people who attended it last year that we hands down didn’t have to think about it, we are hosting this again and hopefully keep on going for in the future.”

Pucks for Everyone will feature supper and live auction, which will feature 16 signed plaques of the top NHL teams. Winners of the plaques have the chance to receive 40 per cent of the live auction pot.

“You can buy that thing for $500 and then you’re going to roll away with who knows how much money. Last year our winner won $2700 and donated it right back, which is absolutely unreal.”

The event takes place on April 8 starting at 5:30 at the exhibition grounds. Live entertainment will be included as well as $3 drinks. Tickets are $30 each. For tickets, you can reach Don Milot at (780)872-4453 or Andrew Ross at (306)307-4575.
