Local Salvation Army in need of cereal and diaper donations

Salvation Army Lloydminster is asking for the communities help in order to fill the shelves with cereal and size 6 diapers. Office Administrator Tiffany Frank says the food bank has been out of these items for the past week.

“We throw things on our Facebook page that we need and usually the community is always on the spot, but unfortunately this time we’re not having the kind of response that we usually do.”

Frank says around 50 families a week come to the organization to receive hampers of items that in some cases they can’t afford.

“We’ve had families come in and cry when we give them what they leave with because when you can’t feed your child, and it is not necessarily your fault, there is a huge impact when they can walk out and give their child a granola bar or whatever else it is we have in our hampers.”

Anyone looking to help out can drop off donations at the Salvation Army Community Church at 2302 53 Ave.
