Street cleaning has started in North battleford

The City of North Battleford has begun street cleaning in order to get rid of the gravel, dirt and debris left over by the melting snow. Currently, two street sweepers were sent out to clear litter from roads.

The City estimates the first round of cleaning should take a couple of months to complete. The street cleaning priorities follow the same that are mapped out for snow clearing. Main routes and downtown streets are completed first, followed by residential areas. Once the first round of street cleaning is complete, the sweeper falls back onto a regular schedule.

During the street cleaning process, sweepers work from the centre of the roads to the curb. Residents are asked to take caution around the street sweepers by slowing down, moving to the side of the road or taking a different route.

Residents may be ticketed as on-street parking restrictions are in effect while the streets are being cleared. Vehicles caught parking during a restriction date and time will receive a $20 fine. Late payments will result in the fine being doubled.
