Bobcats sign Alex Danis

Former Calgary Royals forward, Alex Danis has signed his Letter of Intent with the Lloydminster Bobcats for the 2019-20 season. The Cats announced the acquisition Wednesday as the Bobcats continue to find the pieces necessary for future of the organization.

In his final season with the Royals, Danis recorded 18 goals and 33 points in 34 games and helped lead his team to the south AMHL final against the Calgary Buffalos. Head Coach Nigel Dube believes Danis will bringing in some added leadership into the locker room.

“His expectations of himself to perform every day, I think, will be a big piece of holding players accountable of how they do things. On the ice, he is a well-rounded, two-hundred-foot player that can chip in offensively but play all situations.”

In a release, Dube says during the recruiting process the team met with Danis and family several times. He says the forward has shown he strives for success based on his preparation, focus and commitment to his final exams.

“His character was hands down fantastic through the lengthy recruiting process with him. He sees the ice really well and has the ability to find the net and isn’t afraid to go there.”

The organization says they will continue to move forward in the offseason of putting pieces of the puzzle together. The Bobcats announced the signing of Tanner Mack earlier this week.
