Lloydminster Bobcats trade 3 players

The Lloydminster Bobcats have traded 3 players just prior to the season opener in Bonnyville.

The team has traded 20-year-old forward Patrick Geary to the Cowichan Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League in exchange for 19-year-old forward MacKenzie Bauer.  Geary registered 30 goals and 26 assists for 56 points in 92 games for the Bobcats over the past two seasons. Bauer made his BCHL debut last season with the Vernon Vipers, tallying 5 goals and for 4 assists over 27 games.

The team has also traded goalie Ryan Ternes to the Calgary Mustangs for the rights to 18-year-old forward Adam Berg and future considerations. Ternes saw duty as a backup goalie last year, appearing in 14 games, and putting up a record of 7 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. Berg split last season between the Mustangs and the Western Hockey League’s Regina Pats. In 49 games with the Mustangs, Berg scored 16 goals and 20 assists.

Finally, the Bobcats have traded 19-year-old defenseman Allan MacPherson to the Calgary Canucks for future considerations. MacPherson asked to be traded to his hometown so he could begin his schooling while continuing his Junior A hockey career. The  defenceman registered 6 assists in 13 games for the Bobcats last season after being acquired from the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League on December 1st, 2014.

The team says they thank the three players and their family for their contributions to the organization, and wishes them the best in the future.
