Local business celebrating ten years by giving back

A local business is celebrating its decennial year in business here in Lloydminster. Assure Occupational Testing Inc. began in 2009 and wants to show its gratitude by giving back to the community.

For the next 10 months, the company plans to donate $10,000 to local charities. Each organization will be receiving a cheque for $1,000 with the first one going to The Salvation Army on July 16. The other nine recipients will be announced closer to the date they’ll receive it. Jon Rokochy, founder and CEO of Assure Occupational Testing, said the company wants to show how important those ten years are.

“We just feel that it’s important to say ‘thank you’ to Lloydminster as a community, as a whole,” said Rokochy. “We really do believe that we’ve been blessed as a business and we’re blessed to bless others, so we want to bless back.”

Rokochy says he and his staff got together to choose which charities would receive the donations. A more direct thank you to clients and residents is also in store with a barbecue planned. The Customer Appreciation BBQ on Thursday, August 8, in the parking lot next to their office at 4816 49 avenue in Lloydminster. Rokochy says its the company’s way of showing they couldn’t have reached this tenure without the residents of the Border City.

“Ten years is definitely a milestone that we couldn’t have achieved without the support of this amazing community of Lloydminster that we live in [sic]. We’re just really grateful to the whole community for us being able to reach this wonderful milestone.”
