City hosting open house for Northeast Area Structure Plan

Lloydminster is inviting residents to share what they would like to see from the Northeast Area Structure Plan at an open houseĀ on June 20 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Lloydminster Exhibition Association’s Aspen Room. The plan is aiming to provide guidance for long-term land use and infrastructure planning for the area north and east of the golf course and cemetery.

The planning includes sequences of development, zoning and land uses, density population and potential transportation routes. The area contains about seven quarter sections of undeveloped land surrounded by industrial, commercial, residential, recreational and institutional areas.

In late March, the City invited targeted landowners, businesses and stakeholders to join the discussion, through stakeholder meetings and online surveys, on the future development regarding their vision, opportunities, and the constraints of the area. The open house is the next phase of planning for the NASP. The city also has an online survey for residents to fill out regarding the plan on its website.
