Lloydminster Bobcats fans should mark their calendars as the Alberta Junior Hockey League announced the schedule for the 2019-2020 season. The league is heading into its 56th season on September 13th.

Prior to the upcoming season, the AJHL will partake in a 46-game exhibition before opening weekend. The exhibition season kicks off August 23 and will include 10 interleague games versus CJHL teams and 10 games outside of AJHL communities.

In a statement on Thursday, AJHL Commissioner Ryan Bartoshyk says the league is looking forward to carrying the momentum built from the previous season into this year.

“The AJHL reached a five-year high in attendance during the 2018-19 season, which is a credit to the efforts our teams have made to enhance the game-day experience and the commitment of our coaches to ice competitive and entertaining teams.”

The upcoming season will include partnerships between five AJHL teams and local schools to promote ‘hooky games’. The Bobcats will be playing the Drumheller Dragons for the event in October. The Cats will also head to Sherwood Park to take on the Crusaders when they welcome in local schools.

AJHL hockey is headed to a new community on December 6th when the Lloydminster Bobcats take on the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in Onion Lake.

The Lloydminster Bobcats play two games against the Sherwood Park Crusaders on opening weekend which includes a home opener on the 14th
