Sask. RCMP wrap-up Craven Country Thunder

The Country Thunder Music Festival has wrapped up for another year. Festival guests will be packing up and moving out of the site today. Traffic will be the main focus for RCMP members – getting all campers and visitors out of the area and onto the highway safely.

Conditions on the festival grounds are quite muddy from a downpour last night and the RCMP asks everyone leaving to be cautious and patient. Mounties report 160 calls for service over the course of the festival. Twenty-seven charges were laid (21 of those were charges against adults and 6 were against youths), and 46 prisoners held in custody. The RCMP says the vast majority of calls and charges were alcohol-related.

In terms of Combined Traffic Services statistics, officers issued a total of 307 tickets, 432 warnings, 81 vehicle inspection tickets, 4 roadside suspensions and located 6 people wanted on outstanding warrants. The Saskatchewan RCMP thanks all festival-goers for a “relatively smooth and pleasant Country Thunder experience.”
