A man is wanted by the Battlefords RCMP following a year-old hit and run investigation. August Devin Nahbexie, 22, of the Saulteaux First Nation, faces charges of failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing death, failure to comply with a probation order, failure to comply with an undertaking and obstruction. Nahbexie is also wanted on 9 other unrelated charges.
On July 25, 2018, Mounties received a 911 call of a man laying on Highway 4, 1 km south of Battleford. The RCMP arrived on scene shortly after and the investigation indicated that the male was dead from being run over by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle had fled the scene and was not identified by police at the time.
The Battlefords RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating August Nahbexie. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact the Battlefords RCMP at (306) 446-1720, or Crime Stoppers.
