RCMP catch man near Kitscoty on Canada wide warrant

Kitscoty RCMP nabbed a man who was wanted on a Canada wide warrant. RCMP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Hwy 16 heading eastbound towards Kitscoty. A Kitscoty officer set up surveillance on the highway and observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle turn south on range road 32. The RCMP approached the vehicle and saw the man and woman in the vehicle were trying to change places so it would look like the man was not driving. The man in the vehicle became belligerent and evasive by refusing to identify himself or cooperate with the Police. When the officer attempted to arrest the man, he fled out the window of the vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with the member but was arrested. The man was wanted for breaching his Parole conditions and subject to a Canada Wide driving prohibition. He will also face a number of new charges due to this incident.
