LPSD reminds parents of possible route changes, bus safety before back to school

The Lloydminster Public School Division is encouraging parents to look up the proper bus route and stop for your child ahead of back to school. LPSD posted the reminder on Facebook letting parents and guardians known that some routes may have changed from last year.

The school division is also informing parents on certain steps to follow in order to ensure the safety of children on their way back to school. Children who’re taking the bus should be informed of where their bus stop location is going to and from school. As necessary, a responsible individual should be available to meet the child at their stop after school.

With the excitement of going to back to school, some kids may be lost in conversation with their friends on the bus, but student bus rides are usually short and the kids must pay attention for their stop.

LPSD says a plan should be in place in case the child missed their stop, gets on the wrong bus or no one is at their stop. In these cases, children should not get off the bus as LPSD has a lost child procedure in place. Bus drivers will return young students to their school when they have missed their stop or are unsure of their way home from the bus stop.

Before heading back to school on Septemeber 3, anyone looking for their children’s bus routes can go to their schools website or at the LPSD’s website.
