Co-op Fuel Good Day continues to be successful after third year

Gas tanks in Lloydminster are full after Co-op Fuel Good Day on Tuesday. Five cents from every litre was donated to the Lloydminster Public School Division and Lloydminster Catholic School Division Breakfast Program.

Kristine Knourek, Marketing and Communications Manager for Lloydminster and District Co-op, said that there was tremendous support from Lloydminster and surrounding area.

“Fuel Good Day in 2019 was a huge success. Together with the proceeds from the pumps and as well as the proceeds from the rural school BBQ; we raised close to $10,000 for school breakfast programs.”

Co-op Fuel Good Day has almost $6,700 to donate to both breakfast programs. At all three locations, rural schools from Paradise Hill, Paradise Valley and Hillmond hosted a barbecue during the day. The total raised from all three barbecues is over $3,000.

Knourek said that people came to the stations and filled their vehicles up, but also brought Jerry Cans so they could support the day as much as possible.

“We actually exceeded the communicative total raised from last year Fuel Good Day. So, we are very, very grateful for everybody who chose to fuel up at Co-op on Fuel Good Day.”

Fifty cents from each donut that was purchased was donated to the LPSD and LCSD Breakfast Program. This was the third year for the Co-op Fuel Good Day.
