Battlefords RCMP investigates after a 15-year-old has sustained severe injuries after being hit by a vehicle. The boy was struck at 1 am on October 2 on Highway 16.
The 15-year-old was treated for his injuries by Battlefords EMS and the fire department on route to Battlefords Union Hospital. Police say STARS was called in to transport the injured teenager to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for further treatment. The boy’s family has been contacted about the incident. Police say he was alone at the time.
Mounties say the initial investigation revealed the driver was of the vehicle was sober and had stopped to call the accident into 911.
The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released once it comes in.
