Court dates pushed for two charged in the death of Tiki Lavediere

Two people facing charges in the Tiki Lavediere homicide investigation will be back in court in November.

Soaring Eagle Whitstone and Nicole Cook were in court on September 27 and had their court dates pushed to November 1. Both are charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and improperly interfering with a human body. 

Cook is the mother of Tristan Cook-Buckle whose funeral Lavediere attended on April 27 on Thunderchild First Nation.

Another six people are facing charges in the death of Lavediere.

Shayla Orthner and Danita Thomas are facing first-degree murder, kidnapping and improperly interfering with a human body and theft of a motor vehicle charges in court on October 18.

Jesse Sangster is facing the same charges as Orthner and Thomas and is in court on October 11.

Mavis Takakewaw is charged with accessory after the fact to murder and will be in court October 18.

Nikita Sandra Cook is charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping and will be in court on November 1.

Brent Checkosis is charged with accessory after the fact to murder, improperly interfering with a human body and theft of a motor vehicle and will be in court on October 18. Checkosis was stabbed while being held at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre on August 22.

Tiki Laverdiere travelled to North Battleford at the end of April to attend the funeral of Tristen Cook-Buckle and reported missing in May. Her remains were found outside of North Battleford in July.
