Cram an Ambulance brings 300 bags to food bank

Lloydminster and District Co-op and WPD Ambulance Care have partnered to bring an ambulance full with food to the local food bank.

Lloydminster residents donated almost 300 bags of food for “Cram the Ambulance” on October 1. The event raised about 60 more bags than the previous year with the bags going to the Salvation Army Food Bank. Lloydminster Co-op Communications Manager Kristine Knourek says it was another successful year and thanks the community for their support.

“There was an increase this year which we’re really excited about and very grateful to our Co-op membership for supporting the food bank.”

Knourek says the event started when WPD Ambulance approached them to help with a food drive.

“They came to us a few years ago wanting to start a food drive and so we partnered together in support of the Salvation Army Food Bank and then The Bobcats jumped on a few years ago and said we want to help out too.”

This is the fifth year the two organizations have held “Cram the Ambulance” in Lloydminster.
