Lions Club gathering sock for people in need

The Lloydminster Lions Club is looking to help the Border City’s less fortunate by filling barrels full of socks.

The Lions are holding their second sock drive from October 7 to November 7 for the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter.

Lions Club chair Rick McMahon says the Lions club is looking to serve all members of the community and have a rough goal of 100 pairs of socks.

“We want to continue with it because it’s always great when it helps someone that needs it like the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter.”

Last year, the club was able to donate 60 pairs of socks for the drive. New socks of all sizes can be dropped into the red barrel at Bob Jack’s Sheet Metal on 4114 50 Avenue or the yellow barrel at the Lloydminster Animal Hospital on 6002 50 Avenue.
