Two arrested in truck theft outside of Viking

A Vermilion man and Lloydminster woman are being charged with theft of a vehicle outside of Viking.

Viking RCMP was notified of a theft in progress by employees at a worksite in the rural area east of Viking on November 14 at 6:30 a.m.

RCMP, Police Dog Services along with workers and citizens kept the suspect in the work site area. The two suspects then got out of the stolen truck and tried to flee on foot.

Thirty-four-year-old Jammi-Lynn Pierce of Lloydminster and Josh Thorne, 26, of Vermilion are charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and enter on land without permission.

Thorne has an additional charge of driving while unauthorized. Both were released and will appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on December 2.
