Local motorcycle chapter gives nearly $70,000 to charities

Bordertown H.O.G Chapter is in the holiday spirit after giving several local charities a helping hand.

The motorcycle group presented eight organizations with the money they raised through the Bordertown Toy Run. Close to $70,000 was raised through their annual fundraiser in September.

The eights groups who received the donations were: $20,500 went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster, $19,650 went to KidSport Lloydminster, $19,602 went to the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre, $6,000 went to 106.1 The Goat’s Christmas Wish, $1,000 went to The Olive Tree, $1,000 went to the Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services and $1,000 for both school district’s lunch programs.

BBBS Director of Service Delivery Jacqueline Weed says they’ve appreciated the motorcycle group partnering with them for the past seven years.

“We’re always very excited for the long-lasting partnership we’ve had with the Bordertown H.O.G.s and we greatly appreciate being a part of the Toy Run every year.”

Bordertown H.O.G has raised over half a million for local charities in the nine years they’ve run the event.
