Battlefords seek new parks and recreation program feedback

The City of North Battleford and Town of Battleford are seeking public feedback towards the joint parks and recreation master plan.

The current state of spaces, facilities, programs and activities will be assessed with the plan. Looking into the future, it will also identify the needs of parks and recreation services for residents and visitors over the next ten years.

RC Strategies and PERC will work with the two municipalities to complete the master plan. In a statement this month, City of North Battleford Mayor Ryan Bater believes consultation with the community is important for the development of the plan.

“Recreation and parks services and programs help improve our overall health, strengthen families, and enhance the entire Battlefords community.”

A survey will happen in November and December to gather local opinions from community partners, organizations, and residents.

“I strongly encourage all residents in the Battlefords area to provide their input and have their say about the new master plan when given the opportunity. This is an important project that will guide how parks and recreation services in our community are provided for years to come,” says Town of Battleford Mayor Ames Leslie.

Residents will acquire a postcard in the mail with an access code needed to participate in the survey, which will be available next week. A hardcopy of the code can be picked up at city hall if needed.
