An Edmonton man is being charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop found almost half a kilogram of cocaine in his vehicle.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Roving Traffic Unit stopped a vehicle on Highway 16 near Maidstone on December 29. They conducted a search under the Cannabis Control Act and found 259 grams of crack cocaine and 223 grams of cocaine in vacuum-sealed bags.
Darian Smith has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The 27-year-old made his first appearance at the Lloydminster Provincial Court on December 30.
