Kitscoty RCMP search for suspects involved with shots fired during vehicle theft

Kitscoty RCMP is asking for the public’s help in finding a woman involved in the theft of an SUV from a residence near Kitscoty.

At around 12 a.m., Kitscoty RCMP responded to the report of a vehicle theft at a rural residence north of the village on January 13.

RCMP say the victim was checking out suspicious activity near a relative’s home and left the vehicle running as they went inside. While inside, a truck pulled into the driveway and a women stole the SUV.

The victim came out but went back into the house after two shots were fired from the truck. The bullets hit the residents and no one was injured.

Patrols searched the area for both vehicles but neither was found. The SUV was later found abandoned in Onion Lake and the truck which was reported stolen from Dewberry was found abandoned near Range Road 12 northeast of Kitscoty.

The woman involved in the theft is described as 5’6”, dark complexion with long black hair.
