Highway 16 crash leaves woman in critical condition

A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a semi-truck near Lashburn on Saturday.

RCMP say, at around 6:30 p.m., two drivers were standing outside their vehicles exchanging information after one rear-ended the other on Highway 16, three kilometres east of Lashburn. A semi-truck attempted to drive around the scene and hit both vehicles and one of the drivers.

The 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital in Lloydminster by Maidstone EMS and was airlifted to Edmonton on Sunday. She remains in critical condition. No one else was injured in the collision.

No charges have been laid as the investigation is ongoing.
