Lakeland College adds new clinical esthetician program

Lakeland College is adding a new certificate program to its School of Health and Wellness.

The institution will be offering a clinical esthetician which will share the same curriculum as their current esthetician program but will focus on clinical procedures in the third semester.

Students will study anatomy and physiology of the skin, immune functions, skin diseases and disorders to identify many different medical conditions.

They will also learn how to use multifunctional beauty machines and get hands-on experience at the student-led spa.

“With this technology, we’re offering our students industry-leading practices that will set them apart when they enter the workforce. Based on industry and alumni feedback, this program is helping us meet a demand for existing estheticians to upgrade their skills so they can provide pampering services with results,” says Deb Minish, chair of the School of Health and Wellness.

Graduates of the program will get the skills to work in dermatology clinics, health and medi-spas and beauty salons.
