Free program helps Lloydminster residents quit smoking

Lloydminster residents looking to quit smoking can take part in a free program later this month.

Alberta Health Services is holding their six week QuitCore program in the Border City at the end of March. The program is open for people 18 years and older and will teach them how to develop a plan to quit and remain smoke free.

It also offers a combined counselling and access to financial supports for nicotine replacement therapy. The program launched in 2008 and is offered in 25 communities across the province.

The six-week course is held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays starting March 24 at the Sprucewood Centre.
