Telus customers experience network outage service in Alberta

Telus says service for customers affected by a network outage affecting wireless service in Alberta and parts of Western Canada should be back up within the hour.

“Earlier today, we experienced an equipment failure that caused a service disruption in parts of Western Canada, affecting wireless services and some wireline customers. Our team immediately identified the outage and restored services within an hour. We know how critical connectivity is for our customers, especially during this public health crisis, and we sincerely apologize for the service interruption,” says Telus spokesperson Liz Sauvé.

According to their service status page, the outage occurred at 9:08 a.m.  and affected mobile phone services as well as home phones.

“Home phone and mobility services are experiencing an interruption which may result in being unable to make and receive international calls.”
