Saskatchewan extends AgriStability deadline

Farmers and agriculture producers seeking to make use of the Saskatchewan Agri Stability program will have longer to do so.

AgriStability offers financial aid to producers who experience large margin declines due to production loss, adverse market conditions, increased costs or any combination of the three. Coverage is determined on a case basis, using historical data to find  a program year margin and a reference margin.

Agriculture Minister David Marit announced Monday that July 3rd, 2020 will be the cutoff, without penalty.

People needing the AgriStability program can now also apply for an interim benefit, getting a portion early to help support losses and cover costs before completing their fiscal year.

Farmers can apply for the program online, over the phone at 1-866-270-8450 or through email.
