Lakeland College instructors to perform at Vic Juba Theatre

The performing arts program instructors from Lakeland CollegeĀ are preparing to put on a show.

The Vic Juba theatre will host An Evening of Music on Saturday, November 28, featuring some seasonalĀ music as well as jazz and classical pieces, done by the teachers ofĀ performing arts at the college.Ā Already confirmed to play in the recital is Kim DruryĀ on saxophone, cellistĀ Eva Miller, violinist Siiri Miller, vocals by Kathryn Edwards, and aĀ percussion duo, featuring 2Ā current students.

Mona Smith, Facilitator of the Performing Arts Program, says of many of the teachers have extensive musical resumes.

“We have people that have played with philharmonic orchestras,” Smith said. “We have people who have played across North America who now reside in our community and teach music to our young people here, and adults. It’s just an opportunity for them to showcase their talent.

The college will also be presenting the Friends of Bob Mottram Performing Arts Award during the concert.

Tickets to the recital are $15 for adults, or $5 for Lakeland students andĀ guests 18 and under. To order tickets,Ā visit the Vic Juba website, or the theatre box office between 9:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m.

The show will start at 7 p.m.
