Outpaitent, emergency services suspended at Wilkie and District Health Centre

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has suspended several services at the Wilkie and District Health Centre.

As of May 7th, emergency and outpatient services are suspended, and laboratory, X-Ray, and community services are available by appointment only. Residents should call ahead to get appointments.

The layout of the Wilkie and District Health Centre and current staffing levels make the move necessary. The SHA says this will best help long term care residents, as well as maintain the health and safety of patients and staff.

Emergency department services are available 24/7 in Unity and North Battleford, and if a resident is in an emergency they should not hesitate to call 9-1-1. EMS will then take the person to the most appropriate facility for their need. Non-emergency health concerns can be assisted by calling Healthlink 8-1-1.

Physician clinic appointments are still available during regular clinic hours at the Wilkie Medical Clinic.
