United Way Lloydminster providing support to local non-profits

United Way Lloydminster and District is providing help to community organizations needing assistance during the pandemic.

As part of the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), the local United Way chapter has $180,000 to support non-profits helping seniors, Indigenous communities, food banks, mental health, shelters and healthcare initiatives in the area.

The ECSF provides financial support to charities and other qualified donees adapting their frontline services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are given out by United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross. The federal government has set aside  $350 million for organizations all throughout Canada.

Applications to receive funding are available on their website and will be processed on a rolling basis. Local charities can apply starting today and applications close on July 31.
