Saskatchewan confirms seventh COVID-19 death, 21 new cases

Saskatchewan has recorded another death related to COVID-19 in the province.

The person was in their 60s and lived in the North region of the province. This brings the death toll from the disease in Saskatchewan to seven since the outbreak began.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has also confirmed 21 new COVID-19 cases in the province. Sixteen of the cases are in the Far North, including nine in La Loche and six in Beauval. Four more are in the North Zone, and one more is in Saskatoon.

Twenty four people have also been confirmed recovered from the disease in the last twenty-four hours. This brings total active cases to 120 of 620 reported. Total recoveries are at 494, or just under 80% of all cases. In the north zone, there are eleven active cases and 98 recoveries.

There are also four people in hospital, all in Saskatoon. Three of those people are in the ICU.

To date, 41,951 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
