Saskatchewan lifts northwest travel restrictions

People will again be able to travel to and from the North-West of Saskatchewan, starting June 8th.

The Province announced Tuesday that they will be easing restrictions, as active COVID-19 case numbers fall in the Far North. This means people will be able to travel to and from the Far North, as well as from community to community within.

Phase one and two of re-opening will also begin in the town of La Loche, who was previously grappling with a COVID-19 outbreak in their community. Outdoor gathering restrictions will also be increased to twenty people, however, indoor gatherings will be left at ten people. This will take effect on June 8th as well.

The rest of the Far North region has also begun phase one and two of re-opening. There is no set date for phase 3, which will come based on how COVID-19 numbers move during re-opening.

Lifting of restrictions could also be delayed based on advice from medical health officials.
