Bone and Biscuit to benefit Coca’s Promise

Lloydminster residents will have an opportunity to adoptĀ a pet this weekend.

Cats and dogs will be at the BoneĀ & Biscuit Friday, December 11, and Saturday, December 12, during their fundraising event for Coca’s Promise Dog Rehabilitation & Rescue. Cats will be featured on Friday and puppies will be featured at the store on Saturday.

Owner and operator of the Lloydminster’s Bone & Biscuit, Kirbi Bishop, says Coca’s Promise is an important charity to support.

“I think it’s really important because it is a small, home-based rescue that uses fosters to basically bring home dogs until they can permanently relocate them,” Bishop said. “I think that the work that [they do]… is extremely important. It’s all volunteer work, and I think that at this time of the year, they could really use a helping hand.”

Attendees can donate to the rescue orĀ test their luck by spinning the wheel of prizes forĀ aĀ $5Ā donation, or 3 spins for $10. Bishop says she hopes to raise enough to keep the non-profit going.

“IĀ would like to see us raise about $500,” Bishop said. “It’ll probably go towards vaccines and vet bills; common things that they struggle with, being part of the rescue.”

The fundraiser is happening fromĀ 12-5 p.m both days.
