North Battleford will have busy construction season

North Battleford construction crews will have a lot to do this summer.

Throughout the month of July, the City plans to begin underground utility work on several North Battleford roads. This could mean road closures, drinking water advisories and service disruptions as crews work. Businesses and residents will be warned beforehand, and visitors are advised to give themselves a little more time to find parking.

North Battleford’s construction will take place largely between July and September, and will follow this schedule:

  • July 2nd: Replacement of water mains and underground building service connections on 100th Street from 12th to 14th Avenue starts. The work will begin on the 1200 block and move northward. The 1200 and 1300 blocks of 100th Street will be closed to traffic, but pedestrian access to businesses will remain open from the back alley. Drivers trying to use 100th Street and Railway Avenue are told to use Territorial Drive.
  • July 24th: Underground utility work will begin on 95th Street 15th to 16th Avenue. That’s expected to wrap up around September 4th. Road restoration begins after that, with an end date of September 30th.
  • August 10th: Underground utility work begins on 95th Street between from 19th to 20th Avenue, and is set to wrap up August 21st. From there, road restoration, which is set to end September 12th.

The City also plans to continue work on Carlton Trail and  Yellow Sky Drive, which is set to wrap up July 25th. Crews are working on a median at Carlton Trail to prohibit left turns and through North-South movements at the intersection with Frontier Way. Yellow Sky Drive is getting a new, signalized full movement intersection, and being extended North.
