Lloydminster begins three construction projects

Lloydminster has begun three construction projects June 23rd.

At 7AM, crews began work on 28 Street and 53 Avenue from 56 Avenue to 27 Street, 45 Avenue from 32 Street to 33 Street and 36 Street from 59 Avenue to the 63 Avenue Close. This is part of the Lloydminster Street Improvement Program, or SIP.

SIP will replace sections of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, patch failed areas of road and do asphalt resurfacing. This means lane restrictions for these areas as crews work.

The work is expected to be finished by August 8th, barring any unforeseen circumstances and weather permitting. The City is reminding drivers to allow extra time for travel, slow down in construction zones and obey all signs, detours and barriers.

Work this year will also be completed on a westbound right turn lane for 12 Street and 75 Avenue, and trail improvements on the 59 Ave Trail from 40 to 41 Street.
