Lloydminster RCMP announce drug bust

Lloydminster RCMP have announced a drug bust.

In the morning of Wednesday,December 9, the police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 3500 block of 52 Avenue. The RCMP met with 30-year-old Dwayne Thomson at the home, and found 198 grams of crack cocaine in his possession, with a street value of around $17,000.

“Targeted pressure as a result of the Lloydminster RCMP Crime Reduction Strategies will disrupt drug distribution in the city,” said Constable Toby Jennings.  “This is an initiative the public will continue to see.”

He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and will appear in court Tuesday, January 5.
