Battlefords Aquatic Centre set to re-open Wednesday

The CUplex Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre is set to re-open August 5th, but with some changes due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Starting Wednesday, the lane and wave pools. hot-tub, diving board and lazy river will be operational again, but the slides and steam rooms still closed. Regular swimming hours will also be in place, noon to 1:30, 2:30 to 5 pm and 5:30 pm to 8 PM. At the end of these time slots, a half-hour of enhanced cleaning will take place.

While the centre is for the most part open again, some COVID-19 health guidelines remain in effect. Non-member visitors will have to use the new general entrance to the facility. Everyone who comes in, member or non-member, will have to register themselves and their party using one of the four tablets located around the centre. This is so that if COVID-19 contact tracing needs to be done, anyone who was there can be notified.

All change rooms will be open, and people are told to shower before entering the pool, and after leaving it.

Physical distancing will still be in place between groups both in and out of the pool or hot tub, which will be marked off. Swimmers will have to bring their own toys, equipment or personal flotation devices, and cannot share with anyone outside their group. People can also wear masks in the facility, but not into the water.

Membership and entry rates have not been changed, and anyone who lost time on their membership will have it extended, up to 20 weeks.

Booking times and rates can be found on the City of North Battleford’s website.
