North Battleford rolling out next phase of road projects

The City of North Battleford is rolling out the next phase of their capital projects, which means underground utility work in several areas.

Homes and businesses will have to watch for road closures, water service disruptions and drinking water advisories as crews work in their area. Several projects are getting work done in Augst and into September, including:

  • 95th Street from 15th to 16th Avenue: Work is expected to run from August 24th to September 4th, with roadway restoration being completed by September 30th.
  • 101st Street from 19th to 20th Avenue: Work is planned to run from August 10th to 21st, with roadway restoration expected to be done by September 12th.
  • 100th Street Service north of the 20th Avenue Road Rehabilitation: This job is planned for September 8th to September 25th, with roadway restoration to extend to October 31st.

Motorists using 100th Street and Railway Avenue as a route through the centre of the city are told to continue detouring when possible to avoid congestion while crews work. Drinking water advisories are still in effect on 100th Street from 12th to 14th Avenue as new mains are tested and commissioned.

The 1200 and 1300 blocks of 100th Street are still closed to traffic, but walking access to businesses will remain open from the back alley. Drivers are urged to take extra time to find parking.

Road construction is ongoing in the Carlton Trail/Yellow Sky Drive area, as a centre median is being built to prevent left turns and north-south movements at the intersection with Frontier Way. A full movement, signalized intersection is being built at Yellow Sky Drive, and the motorway is being extended to the north.

Work is complete on the runway at the North Battleford Community Airport, and it is open to traffic.
