Lloyd Ex launching second Chase the Ace fundraiser

The Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association will be starting another Chase the Ace raffle, but this time they will be starting out with a $10,000 jackpot.

The Ex is holding a second raffle this year after a person picked up the Ace of Hearts ending the fundraiser earlier than expected.

“On week five we had a winner so that’s how unpredictable this game is. That means anyone can win at any week,” Assistant General Manager Jackie Tomayer says.

Each week, a ticket will be drawn and they will pick a card from a deck of 52. The person will win 20 per cent of the weekly sales from the draw and 30 per cent will go into a growing jackpot. If the Ace of Hearts is chosen then they will win the jackpot.

Half of the proceeds made from ticket sales will go towards the LAEA in helping with operational costs as well as a possible land expansion to the north. The previous Chase the Ace raised around $6,000 for the LAEA.

“We are looking forward to that support again and hopefully we can build that pot even bigger. If this goes anywhere around the 350,000 tickets or the 52 weeks, somebody will be walking home with about $1 million. We’re hoping it’ll build that big.”

Tickets will be available at the Ex starting August 19th and a draw will happen every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The first draw will be on August 26th.
