Lloydminster residents reaching deadline for property tax deferrals

The payment deferral option for Lloydminster’s property taxes is soon reaching its end.

Residents still have until November 10th, 2020 to pay this year’s taxes, after the date was extended through the Payment Option Relief Plan. The program was put in place to ease residents financial pressures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under that plan, utility payments were deferred until the 30th of September, with residential and commercial taxes put on hold until the 10th of November.

Property tax notices were mailed on May 22nd, and anyone who has not gotten one needs to call 780-875-6184 Ext. 2124 anytime between 8 and 5 on weekdays. The city adds that not getting a tax notice does not exempt one from late payment penalties.

Residents are also asked to use online payment options to reduce in-person transactions at City Hall. Payment methods are provided on the invoice and can be found online.
