Lloydminster RCMP arrest two on theft charges

Two suspects are facing several theft-related charges after being arrested by Lloydminster RCMP on November 6th.

Lloydminster RCMP received the call from a resident in the County of Vermilion River that two men had been seen stripping parts off of a vehicle on a rural road. Officers responded, following a suspicious truck into town.

It was later determined that that truck had been stolen from the Lloydminster area as well, and was later found abandoned in a parking lot on 52 Avenue and 49 Street. Two suspects were arrested as they were walking around the area, using help from the RCMP police dog services.

Travis Stehr, 34, of Camrose, AB has been charged with two counts of possession of Property Obtained by Crime exceeding $5000, possession of break-in tools, resisting arrest, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, methamphetamine possession and four counts of failing to comply with a release order. At the time, Stehr was also wanted on some other warrants.

Another man, Richard Bear, 31, of Round Hill, SK has also been arrested on two counts of possession of Property Obtained by Crime exceeding $5000, possession of Break in tools, resisting arrest and failing to comply with a probation order.

Stehr remains in custody before a court appearance in Lloydminster Alberta Provincial Court November 10th, 2020. Richard Bear was released by a Justice of the Peace, and will appear in Lloydminster Alberta Provincial Court December 1st, 2020.
