Local Christmas light show brings in record amounts for charity

Lloydminster resident, Jerry Frank’s charity Christmas light display has had a record-breaking season.
This year, the Lights and Sounds of Christmas House brought roughly $4100.00 in donations for local charities; the Christmas light display set to music that Frank operates at his home is always accompanied by a donation box, and this year it was filled more than ever. Frank says they brought in almost double the amount from last year for local charities and that the attendance was very good.
“At the beginning of the year, we were thinking we’d be happy if we saw three thousand dollars because of the way the economy was, but people just continued to dig deep,” says Frank.
“This year we saw a lot more smaller donations. It was a handful of change or a 5 dollar bill… but there was a lot more of them, which is what pushed us over the top…it’s all about spreading the Christmas spirit and a little Christmas joy to people.”
Just over $1300.00 of the funds raised is going to The Goat’s Christmas Wish for 2016. Frank also says he’s already starting to plan for next year’s display.
