What’s open, what’s closed during the holiday week in Lloydminster

Some of Lloydminster’s city facilities will be closed, and some will be on shortened hours, during the Christmas to New Year’s stretch.

Lloydminster City Hall and the operations centre will all be closed starting Christmas Day, re-opening on January 4th, 2021 at regular hours. In case of an emergency, operations can be called at 780-872-5418 or residents can report a concern, such as reporting maintenance issues online as well.

The Bylaw office and RCMP detachment will all be closed from December 25th also, re-opening on Tuesday, December 29th. They will also be closed New Year’s Day, re-opening on regular hours on January 4th.  In case of an emergency, people should still call 911 and if someone needs to get ahold of bylaw, they can call 780-874-3710.

When it comes to garbage collection, the landfill will be shut down from December 25th to the 28th, along with January 1st, re-opening on normal schedules the next day. Curbside collection scheduled to happen Christmas or New Years Day will happen the day before in both cases. People can also put their real trees to the curb from December 28th to January 22nd, during regular hours.

When it comes to the City’s rec facilities, the Bioclean Aquatic Centre will be open for family and lane swims on Christmas Eve from 10 to 1:30, closed Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years, and open from 1 to 8 from December 27 to 30, 10 to 1:30 on New Years Eve. On January 2nd and 3rd, it will be open from 12 noon until 9.

At the Servus Sports Centre, it will be open Christmas Eve from 5:30 AM to 3 PM, from 9 AM to 4 PM on December 26th, 9 to 9 on December 27th, regular hours from December 28th to 30th and then back to 5:30 AM to 3 PM on New Year’s Eve.  It will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s.

People can book times on the Bioclean Aquatic Centre and Servus Sports Centre pages are on their respective website pages.

The Archie Miller Arena, Centennial Civic Centre and the Russ Robertson Arena will be open for pre-booked organized sporting events, and people should refer to the user group’s website for game schedules. Childminding will not be available from Christmas Eve through to New Year’s Day.
