Vermilion residents will soon be able to put their name forward in the running for Mayor and council.
The 2021 Municipal Election for the town has been set for October 18. Nominations will be open for Mayor, six councillor seats and school board trustees for the Buffalo Trail Public School Regional Division and the East Central Alberta Catholic Separate School Regional Division.
Candidate packages will be available at the town office starting January 4 and must be handed in before noon on September 20. The extended nomination period is a recent amendment to the Local Authorities Election Act.
