Lloydminster RCMP arrest two on weapons, drug offenses

The Lloydminster RCMP say they’ve arrested two people on several drug and weapons offences after a traffic stop in the city.

On January 1st, officers stopped a vehicle in the 48 Street and 50 Avenue area. The two people in the vehicle were allegedly in breach of several conditions, leading to them being arrested.

During a search, police allegedly found a large amount of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl. They also say they recovered several weapons and an undisclosed amount of cash.

As a result, 32-year old Cory Redman of Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan and Brendan Strongarm, 24, of Big Island Cree Territory, Saskatchewan are now facing several charges. These are three counts of trafficking, seven counts of failure to comply with release order, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm when prohibited and possession of property obtained by crime.

Both males remain in custody and will appear in Lloydminster’s Alberta Provincial Court on January 5, 2021.
