RCMP determine more about homicide victim found outside of North Battleford

An autopsy has provided some insight about the victim of a homicide outside of North Battleford.

The person’s remains were found after a fire was put out at an abandoned home located north of the junction of Highways 687 and 378, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of North Battleford.

A forensic autopsy was performed in Saskatoon on January 21st. This, along with early investigation and information received so far, have determined the victim was a young, adult male.

The North Battleford RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit-North and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service are still working to find out more about the victim’s identity.

Police are renewing their call for the public’s information in this case. They’re asking anyone, especially those who may have seen something in the area between 6 PM and 10:30 PM on January 19th, are asked to contact the North Battleford RCMP.
