Lloydminster RCMP charge 14 people with over 70 charges in drug bust

Lloydminster RCMP is charging 14 people in connection to a several months-long drug trafficking investigation.

Local police in collaboration with Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team ran an investigation from November 2020 to January 2021 and executed two search warrants in Lloydminster and one in Kitscoty. Several drugs were seized including what RCMP believe was cocaine, methamphetamine, GHB and fentanyl as well as weapons.

“Our detachment will continue to collaborate on investigations in an effort to remove drugs from our streets and target those who poison our city” says Insp. Brachmann, the officer in command of the Lloydminster RCMP. “It is an RCMP crime reduction priority and instrumental in keeping our citizens safe.”

RCMP have charge 23-year-old Rawson Franke, 28-year-old Landon Pahtayken, 43-year-old Jaret Krahn, 27-year-old Kyle Martin, 42-year-old Nicholas Rio, 39-year-old Aileen Harper, 48-year-old Garnet Gormley, 43-year-old Alan McCollum, 42-year-old Michael Kuhmayer and 31-year-old Levi Abel, all of whom are from Lloydminster, with drug trafficking charges as well as other additional charges.

Thirty-nine year-old Kimberly Faure from Prince Albert is also facing breach charges in connection to the investigation.

Two more people have been charged and have warrants out for their arrest. Thirty-two year-old Levi Nickless and 35-year-old Shanel Stewart are charged with trafficking of illegal substance and proceeds of crime.

One youth is also facing trafficking and proceeds of crime charges and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. They cannot be named because they are a youth.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and further arrests and charges are expected.
