Synergy Credit Union has once again achieved the accolade as being one of Saskatchewan’s top employers.
For the fourth-straight year, the company made it onto the list of the province’s 25 top employers for the year. CEO Glenn Stang says the company committed to keeping a safe work culture and made investments into technology ensuring employees could do their job in the safest manner possible.
“We asked for a lot from our employees as the COVID-19 pandemic became an obstacle for many of our members’ financial wellbeing. And they came through in a major way, keeping our service at pre-COVID levels while taking on new tasks that may not have been in their job role previously.”
The company serves over 29,000 members in 10 communities within the province. Synergy points towards some of their initiatives such as moving meetings to a virtual format, giving staff work from home options and other safety measures as proof of that commitment. The company also says staff were given a personal day every two weeks to help them look after their mental health as well.
“We recognize that being able to attract and retain top talent doesn’t happen by accident. The culture that we have built here and the commitment to working with our staff on initiatives that impact them are integral to having a happy and productive workplace. Our Executive Team and Board of Directors are very proud of the work our team does, a team that continues to raise the bar.”
The list, created by MediaCorp Canada Inc., evaluates companies across the province based on criteria such as training and skills development and community involvement. It is open to any company with its head office in Saskatchewan.
